Editor: Canadian Jewish Congress chair Nisson Goldman encourages
Jews to get involved in politics to influence government policy
in alignment with the community's agenda ("Still much on CJC's
plate," Bulletin, June 6). The city of Vancouver may
have offered a prime opportunity to do just that: the municipal
Peace and Justice Committee seeks volunteers. With "peace"
so often equated with an anti-Israel stance, this volunteer position
represents a chance for Vancouver Jews to add balance to the committee's
work. Send a resumé by June 30 to charlene_imai@city.vancouver.bc.ca.
Details can be found at www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/publicprocess.citizens.htm.
