Editor: Thank you for providing background information on so-called
"Fair Pharmacare" in the last issue of the Bulletin
("Fair Pharmacare arrives," June 6). Of course, these
changes to the drug plan do not save any money through efficiency
but serve rather to shift millions of dollars of costs onto those
who are sick. This is part of the quaint economic theory of the
B.C. Liberals - that if they cut back sharply on expenditures in
education, health care and social services, while funnelling money
through tax cuts to our highest income earners, then everyone who
matters will surely benefit.
