Chutzpah! deserves more community support

Letters

Editor: The Chutzpah! festival has just ended. I am a temporary resident of Vancouver and I attended four shows, including the opening night and the closing show. The shows I attended were wonderful, of the highest calibre. And yet I was disappointed.

What was the reason? The attendance at the shows was dismal. The support from the Vancouver Jewish community was sadly lacking. Not one of the shows I saw was sold out. This is a much larger community than the one I come from and yet it could not fill the theatre. The work put in by the organizing committee must have been enormous in order to put on a festival like this. They and the shows they booked are deserving of more from this community.
