The annual Jewish Family Services (JFS) Innovators event has evolved from the traditional luncheon format into an evening cocktail reception. The decision comes as the organization prepares to celebrate the 18th (chai) anniversary of the event, reflecting on nearly two decades of innovative initiatives and community impact.<\/p>\n
Naomi Gropper Steiner z\u201dl, Hildy Barnett z\u201dl and Kristina Berman founded the first Innovators and this year\u2019s gathering will reflect on JFS\u2019s journey over the past 18 years. From its Home Support Program and Thriving Seniors to strategic partnerships and poverty alleviation initiatives, JFS remains committed to meeting the changing needs of the community and is dedicated to creating lasting impacts and fostering a more resilient and inclusive society.<\/p>\n

Chaired by Candice and Todd Thal, this year\u2019s Innovators is set against the backdrop of the Vancouver skyline. Taking place May 28, 6-9 p.m., the event will unfold at the D6 Bar and Lounge, within the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. The culinary offerings will include kosher options.<\/p>\n
The night\u2019s program will spotlight various JFS\u2019s initiatives. Other highlights will include Fund-a-Need, to support JFS\u2019s programs, hosted by Vancouver\u2019s \u201cman about town,\u201d Fred Lee. Master of ceremonies will be actress Christina Chang, who has appeared in several television shows and movies, and is currently playing the role of Dr. Audrey Lim on the ABC show The Good Doctor<\/i>, which has shot in Vancouver over the past seven years.<\/p>\n
